Congratulations for the second week in a row.

Another great team effort again displayed by all players.  Quality passes, shooting and determination that was evident through the 4 quarters.
Good luck for the remainder of the season.

Suburban Dragons, you are so clever!

On Saturday 25 July, the Suburban Dragon’s celebrated with a win in the local netball competition.
The team co-ordinated and worked together as one with the support of their parents from the sideline.
The players moved into space and passed the ball quickly and effectively.  The shooting statistics were pleasing with Kelly, Gemma and Katie working well in the circle.  The defence end read the play well with many intercepts- good work Rebecca, Maddison, Hannah x2 and Claudia.  The mid court was controlled by Zoe’s quick feet, taking and passing the ball in a controlled manner.  The centre court was supported by Charlotte who took on a more domineering role.
A fabulous effort by all well done and good luck for next week.

Congratulations to our Year 6 leaders.

Kaikoura Suburban School leaders have once again made us proud – Kelly, Rebecca, Neroli, Lacey and Hannah.
The leaders represented our school yesterday, at the Kaikoura District Council monthly meeting, informing the Mayor and the councillors how we include Enviroschools into the curriculum and our environment.
The leaders shared the PowerPoint that they had created and answered questions about the many projects that they had helped to implement.
Well done Fyffe Force leaders.

Making kites

The senior school were fortunate to have the opportunity of making traditional kites on Tuesday.  The students collected materials eg flax (harakeke), toetoe and cabbage tree leaves for making their kites.
They began by building a frame and then adding the ‘bling’ the extras, to show their unique styles.   We were extremely impressed at the skills but most importantly how the groups working collectively as a unit.  Great Fyffe Force Learner characteristics, well done everyone.

Learning Celebration

Movies, drama, singing, visual art works and power point presentations all prepared and planned by our learners and staff at our school.
Once again the support from the community was overwhelming.  The shared food was a real success as we were able to sample a variety of foods from different cultures.
We also had the opportunity to farewell our board chair, Darlene.  She has resigned after a 7 year stint of being a trustee and later the board chair.  Tonya P has been elected as our new board chair.
The evening was the students opportunity to share with the community the new knowledge they have  learnt over the last 10 weeks.  The confidence, the knowledge, the leadership each child displayed was truly inspirational.  Well done to all of our Fyffe Force Learners.  You make us very proud.
