2010 Half Marathon run/walk, 10 km run/walk & 2 km Mara’Fun

Our annual running event includes; half marathon, 10 km and 2 km MaraFun, and has become a major fundraising event for our school.  Into it’s fourth year and with a growing audience, our half marathon attracts competitors from all over the country.

The course is based from our school, up the Kowhai River bank, along the base of Mt Fyffe and finishing with picturesque scenes of Kaikoura.

This year we are happy to have secured a major sponsor, Kaikoura 4 Square, with whom we look forward to working with.

Race Day Program

Race Brief – 8.30 am

Half Marathon start time – 9.15 am

10Km start time – 9.30 am

2Km Marafun start time – 9.45 am (Primary School age only)

Prize giving – 1.30pm.

Race packs can be collected Friday 10 September between 9am – 6pm or Saturday 11 September 7.30am – 8.00am.

Race Rules & information:
Entries not transferable.
You must wear your race number on your chest.
Follow course as explained at race brief.
Obey directions of course officials at all times.
Keep to the left of the road unless otherwise directed.
Participants must not wear ipods, walkmans or any kind of earphones.
Races start at corner of Mt Fyffe Road and Schoolhouse Road and head back towards the school and the Kowhai River.
5km, 10km & 15km distances are marked on the course.
There are two drink stations and port-a-loos throughout the course.
